Projektseminare (603)

For the 603 course, students work independently on projects as Leistungsnachweis. If possible, we recommend that projects are done collaboratively. The following guidelines will help you structure your project.

Step 1: Finding a topic

Students are free to choose their own topic. It must, however, be related to the topic of the Fachdidaktik course they are attending. Topics must be agreed upon within four weeks after the beginning of classes. It is mandatory to discuss your choice of topic with your course instructor. They will also provide support if you encounter problems in finding a topic.

Step 2: Making a plan

After you have finalized your topic with your instructor, you will sketch out a project plan that includes the research question, a description of the final outcome (e.g. a poster, a blog, etc.), the major steps and a timeline. The project plan has to be submitted to the instructor within six weeks after the beginning of classes.

Step 3: Implementing your project

You will work independently on the implementation of your project. As with all independent academic work, consult your instructor only if you see a need.

Step 4: Presenting your project in class

A mandatory element of each project is an in-class presentation during the final two weeks of classes. Discuss all details, including the format of the presentation, with your instructor.

Step 5: Evaluating your project

The grade for the project will be based on the project itself, the in-class presentation, and a five-page self-evaluation essay. In this essay you will critically reflect upon the extent to which you have answered your research question, upon what went well during your project and what could have been done better. Deadline for the essay is the last day of term (March 31/Sept. 30).
