Kurzbiographie Vita

Johanna Feier arbeitet seit November 2008 als Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Anglistik und Amerikanistik der TU Dortmund. Im akademischen Jahr 2012/13 war sie zwei Semester als Gastdozentin an der Oglethorpe University in Atlanta tätig. Ihr Studium der Anglistik/Amerikanistik und des Ergänzungsfachs Medienwissenschaft absolvierte sie an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (2001-2006). Während ihres Studiums verbrachte sie zwei Semester an der University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire. Weiterhin forschte sie zwei Monate an der University of New Mexico in Albuquerque im Rahmen ihrer Magisterarbeit „Rewriting the Hollywood Cliché: Recent Movies by Native American Filmmakers“. In ihrem Promotionsvorhaben beschäftigt sie sich mit der Dekonstruktion der Rolle von Alaska in Amerikas Umweltbewusstsein.

Johanna Feier has been working as a research assistant at the Department of English and American Studies at TU Dortmund University since November 2008. During the academic year 2012/13, she spent two semesters as a visiting instructor at Oglethorpe University, Atlanta. She graduated from Karl-Franzens-University Graz in Austria with a degree in English/American Studies and Media Studies. As part of her studies, she spent two semesters at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire as well as two months at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, where she conducted research for her master’s thesis on “Rewriting the Hollywood Cliché: Recent Movies by Native American Filmmakers.” Currently, she is working on her PhD project about deconstructing the role of Alaska in America’s environmental consciousness
